Any one using a modem for WIFI connectivity? I have some difficulties as well whenever I am at Starbucks and what I usually do is unplugging the modem - restarting my laptop and plugging the modem back before it boots up. Hope that also fix your predicament.

You hit the power button, and the unit powers on from that - or just from plugging it in? If the latter, does holding the power button in shut it off? Then hitting it again turn it on? The power button - is it OFF or is it amber? Dells have diagnostic lights not only on the back (A B C D by PS2 ports on MOST black case models) but the power button as well.
